Modelon at GE EDGE

Modelon will exhibit and present at the 2022 EDGE Symposium taking place on September 19-20th in Niskayuna, NY.

The EDGE Symposium combines three symposia —Edge & Controls, AI, and Robotics— into one program. This collaborative and hands-on experience connects 400+ industry thought leaders in these fields. The two-day program will feature keynote talks, workshops, technical sessions, and live demonstrations, highlighting the latest research and developments in the following areas:

  • 5G
  • AI & Machine Learning
  • Controls & Optimization
  • Cybersecurity
  • Edge Computing
  • High Assurance Systems
  • Robotics

Session Information: Leveraging Physics-Based Modeling From Offline to Online Applications

Modelon will present at the 2022 GE EDGE Symposium.

Presented by: Stéphane Velut, Industry Director, Energy and Process

Simulation technologies have become well-established in the industry for product design. Thanks to their predictive capabilities, physics-based models are largely preferred over data-driven models for offline applications, from early component design to system verification. Online applications such as fault detection, optimal control, and performance monitoring set higher requirements on simulation technology for computational performance and connectivity, making data-driven approaches attractive as well.

In this presentation, we’ll discuss how physics-based models can be deployed more widely throughout organizations using Modelon Impact, Modelon’s cloud system simulation platform, to connect engineering departments, internal stakeholders, and partners to communicate information from a single source of truth. In addition, we’ll show how physics-based models complement data-driven models for online and offline applications.
